About us

Our research focuses on aging epidemiology, with an emphasis on understanding longevity, preventive strategies for disease and disability, and the management of age-related health issues in older populations.

We welcome collaborations with researchers having diverse backgrounds.

Longevity and Healthy Longevity

We investigate the determinants of longevity and healthy aging. Current research projects include comparing older adults’ health and healthcare between Japan and Sweden.

Issues in Older Adults, Especially Dementia

We investigate critical health related challenges that affect quality of life and independence in the older population. Our research addresses both chronic conditions such as dementia and musculoskeletal pain and its impact on disability and cognitive function, as well as dementia-related issues including getting lost and wandering behavior.
